Jeanne Louise Kerzner

June 4, 1941 — September 4, 2019

Jeanne Louise (Tully) Kerzner, age 78, passed away peacefully in Whitney Place at Sharon, Massachusetts on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Dover, New Jersey on June 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James and Ann (Giles) Tully.  She was raised in Dover and graduated from Dover High School with the Class of 1959.  Jeanne continued her education, earning her nursing degree in 1962.

In 1964, Jeanne met her husband to be, Gerald M. Kerzner, when he moved in next door to her family.  They dated for a couple years, establishing a relationship, before Gerry moved to Massachusetts for work.  A short time later, Jeanne joined Gerry and they were married on October 2, 1966 in Framingham, Massachusetts.  After making their home together in Norwood, Massachusetts, Jeanne quickly found work as an RN at the Newton Wellesley Hospital.  However, as the young couple welcomed their children, Jeanne left her position, taking on the role of a homemaker after settling in their Sharon, Massachusetts home.  Jeanne spent eleven years at home, raising and caring for her family, returning to her career after both of her children were enrolled in school.  She took a position with the Charlwell House Nursing Home in Norwood in 1980 and was promoted to Nursing Supervisor before her retirement in 2001.  Jeanne’s retirement was prompted by the birth of her first grandchildren, twins, whom she helped care for and raise.

Jeanne always had an interest in sports.  As a young girl, she found a talent for swimming, and always enjoyed being in the water.  She was also a self-taught tennis player, passing her enthusiasm for the sport on to her daughter, Anne.  As an avid walker, Jeanne loved exploring nature, hiking around Moose Hill in Sharon.  While she stayed active, Jeanne enjoyed quiet time at home too, curling up with a good book, playing cards, or taking on family and friends on one of her favorite board games.  However, it was family that was always most important to Jeanne.  She and Gerry had a loving relationship, spending countless hours sailing together as well as traveling across the United States.  Jeanne adored being a mother to her children, Anne and Steven, and was absolutely delighted to welcome her five grandchildren.  Her family will fondly remember Jeanne for her unwavering confidence and constant kindness.

Beloved wife of Gerald M. Kerzner.
Loving mother of Anne L. Randall and her husband, Stephen, of Foxborough and Steven M. Kerzner and his wife, Sharon, of Andover.
Cherished grandmother of Jack Randall, Katie Randall, Sam Randall, Abigail Kerzner, and Jacob Kerzner.
Sister of Mary Anne Riccio of Lowell and the late Kathleen Debony.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Jeanne’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage Street, Sharon.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.  Arrangements by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, Walpole.
