Jean F (Sullivan) Santos, age 91, passed away peacefully in Norwood Hospital on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Jean was born on December 18, 1926 at Marlboro Hospital. She was the daughter of Grace and John Sullivan and their oldest child. She had one sister and five brothers: Eileen Sullivan of Marlboro (deceased), John Parker Sullivan of Rockport (deceased), Richard Thomas Sullivan of Marlboro (deceased), Paul Sullivan of North Billerica, William Sullivan of Hudson (deceased), Robert Sullivan of Westboro. She leaves her sisters-in-law: Ingeborg Sullivan of Rockport, Lorraine Sullivan of Marlboro (deceased), Patricia Sullivan of North Billerica, Judy Sullivan of Hudson, Diane Sullivan of Westboro. She leaves many nieces and nephews.

Jean graduated from Marlboro High as Valedictorian with high honors in English, History, Latin, and Math. She received 3 degrees in teaching: BS from Worcester State, MS in Special Ed from Bridgewater State, MS from Simmons. At college she produced several plays, was inducted into the Honor Society and led girl scout troops. She taught in schools in Maynard, Mentor, Ohio, Worcester, and for many years in Norwood Jr. High.

She leaves her beloved husband Tony, who died in 1993. She leaves 6 children and 6 grandchildren: John Anthony Santos of Belmont, David Mark Santos and his wife Dulce of Tolland, CT and their children Patrick (fiancé Lori) of Santa Cruz, CA and Marissa of Ogunquit, ME, Joseph Edward Santos of Sharon, Andrea Grace Santos and her husband Tom Hayward of Charlemont, William Paul Santos and his wife Laura of Coventry, CT and their children Emily of New York, NY and Rebecca of Atlanta, GA, Richard James Santos and his wife Suzanne of West Hobart, Tasmania, Australia and their children Julia and William.

Jean was active in many groups: The Historical Society of Sharon, Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon and the Delta Kappa Gamma teachers group. She also led the memoirs group at the Sharon Community Center, painted water colors, taught religious education classes and led tours of Borderland State Park and Sharon historical sites. She was chair of the Borderland Advisory Council for many years.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Jean's Life Celebration on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM and Friday, May 11, 2018 from 10 to 10:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage Street, Sharon on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place privately in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Sharon Historical Society, P.O. Box 175, Sharon, MA 02067-0175.
