Jean M. Ring

Jean M. (McLaughlin) Ring, age 88 years, died in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Born in Weehawken, New Jersey on October 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Terwilliger) McLaughlin. She graduated from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New York with the class of 1943. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1966 moving from North Easton.

Jean was a homemaker for most of her adult life, raising and caring for her family.

She was a devoted member of the United Church in Walpole and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also a Friend of the Walpole Public Library and a strong supporter of the Joslin Diabetes Clinic.

She enjoyed playing the piano, golfing, swimming, and tending to her flower gardens. In addition, she was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed bowling with the Early Birds in Walpole. She loved to travel the world with her husband Frank and friends.

Beloved wife of the late Frank R. Ring, Jr. Loving mother of David B. Ring of Newton Highlands, Lisa L. Ring of Walpole, and the late Carolyn N. Ring. Mother in law of Peter DelVecchio of Cumberland, RI. Sister of Barbara Jenkins of Hingham, Philip McLaughlin of Stroudburg, PA, the late Evelyn Sparapani, and the late Paul McLaughlin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Jean's Memorial Service on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the United Church in Walpole. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted at the request of the family. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Church in Walpole P.O.
