Jean G. (Reid) Franklin, age 82 years, died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Gertrude (Mahoney) Reid. She graduated from Sharon High School with the class of 1948 and continued her edcuation at business school in Boston. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1952 moving from Sharon.
She was employed as the comptroller at Factory Mutual Engineering for 20 years.
Jean was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed camping at Lake Manchaug in Sutton, her daily walks around the Town of Walpole, and playing Scrabble on her computer with people around the world. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family in her backyard around the swimming pool, and listening to stories about her grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late Albert J. Franklin, Jr. Loving mother of Karen Hazlett and Rod of Walpole, Deborah Price and Gene of Lynnhaven, FL, Janice Lomp and Martin of Wrentham and the late Robert A. Franklin. Cherished grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 7. Sister of the late Robert Reid and the late Arthur Reid.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Jean's Life Celebration on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 5-8PM and Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 9-9:30AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10AM. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 in loving memory of Jean's husband and son.
