Janet Marie Prevett
May 26, 1927 — July 27, 2020
Janet Marie (McColgan) Prevett, age 93, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020, surrounded by her five loving children.
She was married for 28 years to the true love of her life, Leo Vincent Prevett, until his passing in 1978.
Janet was raised in Norwood, Massachusetts, along with her brothers, Michael, Robert, William, Paul, and Charles. She spent her early years working at the Kendall Company in Walpole. Janet later worked for the Town of Norfolk, as an administrative assistant for practically every department throughout her 25+ year career.
Janet loved to play BINGO and Texas Hold’em Poker. She also enjoyed traveling and cruising with her friends and family.
She is survived by her five children, Lee M. Prevett of Norfolk, Paul E. Prevett and his wife, Michele, of Franklin, Susan M. Deighan of Norfolk, Betsy J. Fijol of Franklin and Gayle M. Sweetman and her husband, Brian, of Norfolk.
She was so blessed and extremely proud of her ten grandchildren, Bill, Cassie, Jill, Lauren, Vin, Sean, Aimee, Joe, Michael and Samantha and also her nine great grandchildren.
Sister of Charles McColgan and his wife, Sandra, of Franklin, the late Michael McColgan, the late Robert McColgan, the late William McColgan, and the late Paul McColgan.
At the request of the family all funeral service will be private. Interment will take place in Highland Cemetery Norwood.
