James F. Wells

James F. Wells age 85 years died in the Golden Living Chetwynde Center in West Newton, Massachusetts on Monday, July 4, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 26, 1926; he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Silva) Wells. He graduated from Boston English High School with the class of 1944 and later graduated from Suffolk University with his Bachelor's Degree and later his Master's Degree. Mr. Wells proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He has been a resident of Newton, Massachusetts for the past 8 years moving from Walpole where he spent 42 years.

He was a teacher in the Boston Public Schools for 20 years and after his retirement he taught in the School of Modern Language in Roslindale.

Mr. Wells was the co-founder of the Traphole Brook Association in East Walpole. He was an avid reader and spend much of his spare time in the Walpole Public Library. He has interests in ancient history, poetry, and English. He was also an avid gardener and enjoyed hosting parties in his Walpole home.

Beloved husband of the late Carolyn R. (Cifu) Wells. Loving father of Geoffrey Wells of Boston. Beloved father in law of Catherine O'Neill. Cherished grandfather of Carolyn Wells of Newton and Jackson Wells of Newton.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Mass that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 4-6 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
