James A. Valentine age 94 years died in his Walpole home on Friday, June 27, 2008. Born in Breckenridge, MN on July 12, 1913 to his parents James A. & Mary Ellet (Kendall) Valentine, he graduated from the Deerfield Academy with the class of 1932. He went on to graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with the class of 1936. He had been living in Walpole for the past 14 years, living previously in Clearwater, FL, Brewster, and Norfolk.
He worked as the service manager for Bird Machine in South Walpole for 34 years.
Mr. Valentine enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening. He was known for his tomatos.
He was also a very active member of the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Walpole.
Beloved husband of Valentine M. "Tina" (Magnani) Valentine, and the late Edith (Priest) Valentine. Loving father of Jane V. Giovannucci of Norfolk, Mary E. Rimavicus of Cedar Key, FL, and Sarah A. Brisson of Weatogue, CT. Cherished grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 8. Brother of Sarah Jane "Sally" Nerber of Wellfleet and the late Kendall C. Valentine. Also survived by many nieces and nephews
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the memorial service that will be held in the Epiphany Episcopal Church 62 Front Street Walpole on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 11AM. Visiting hours and interment are private.
