James C. Polo

April 30, 1943 — March 31, 2018

James C. Polo, age 74, passed away, unexpectedly, on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on April 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Vincent and Nancy (Lombardo) Polo. He was raised in West Roxbury and graduated from Boston Technical High School with the Class of 1961. After graduation, Jimmy enlisted in the United States Army Reserve, serving as a Medic. Jimmy worked several jobs before taking a position with Fabric Research in Dedham, serving as a Research Assistant. He later took a similar position at Factory Mutual. Additionally, Jimmy worked as the Broker/Owner of his own Real Estate company, Salt Box Realty.

In the early 1980s, Jimmy decided to change careers and start his own home building business. He founded Walpole Properties and built many homes over the course of 3 decades. After his retirement in 2012, he continued taking on small projects for close friends and family.

Jimmy married his beloved wife, Gerri E. Bracken, on May 16, 1971 in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The young couple initially made their home in Brighton before moving to Plainville and eventually settling in Walpole, Massachusetts, where they raised their family.

Most recently, he and Gerri purchased a home in Norfolk, at which Jimmy had begun renovations. When he wasn't hard at work on his latest project, Jimmy enjoyed keeping up to date on the stock market and the current political climate. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and also loved following the Patriots in the Fall. Wednesdays were reserved for Trivia Night with close friends. The summer months were never complete without a visit to Horseneck Beach and the Snack Shack, where Jimmy would enjoy a scallop plate or clam cakes.

Most of all, Jimmy was a dedicated family man, who adored spending time with his wife and three daughters. As a master in the kitchen, he regularly prepared wonderful meals for his family to enjoy together. Jimmy was delighted as his family began to grow with the addition of his sons-in-law and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and made sure to attend all of their events.

Beloved husband of Gerri E. (Bracken) Polo.
Loving father of Lisa L. Collins and her husband Kevin of Franklin, Lindsay B. Howard and her husband John of Roslindale, and Leslie S. Caruso and her husband James of West Roxbury.
Cherished grandfather of Riely, Teagan, Curren, Baylee, Sheamus, and Tinsley.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
