JAMES J. MURRAY AGE 82 YEARS DIED in his Walpole Home on Wednesday, May 10th, 2006. Born in Walpole, Massachusetts on December 10, 1923, son of the late William P. & Alice (Sheehan) Murray. He was a part of the Class of 1944 from Walpole High School. He has been a Life Long Resident of Walpole.
In November of 1942, Mr. Murray entered into the United States Navy and served his country during World War II , as a Boatswain's Mate First Class.
Once he returned to Walpole he spent 42 years working in the Roofing plant at Bird & Son in East Walpole.
Mr. Murray was an outdoors man, he loved especially to fish ,he enjoyed playing golf, the Boston Red Sox. he played his Massachusetts lottery daily number, everyday. He had a great sense of humor, and was always the life of the party. His wit , quick mind made him a natural for all kinds of jokes His family remembers his as a very loyal, gentle man, that loved his wife, his family and his grandchildren
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that was celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church Route 27 @ Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, May 13, 2006 @ 9. Visiting hours were held Friday, May 12, 2006 4pm to 8pm at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole. Memorial donations may be made to: American Cancer Society 20 Speen Street Framingham, Massachusetts 01701.
