James J. Hunt

September 5, 1920 — February 22, 2007

JAMES J. HUNT age 86 years died in the Caritas Carney Hospital, Dorchester, Massachusetts on Thursday, February 22, 2007. He was born in Boston on September 5, 1920, the son of the late James J. & Bessie (Keane) Hunt.

He graduated from Hyde Park High School with the class of 1938.

Mr. Hunt was a resident a Walpole for the past 12 years moving here from Hyde Park

He joined the United States Navy and fought for his country during World War II

In 1975 Mr. Hunt retired from the Boston Naval Shipyard with over 33 years of service, as a foreman

He enjoyed gardening, the Boston Sport Teams especially the Red Sox

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren

Mr. Hunt was a member and regular volunteer for the Old Ironsides Association.

Beloved husband of the late Louise R. (Damiani) Hunt Loving father of Joan L. Hunt, Ginger M. Hunt & her husband Salvi Sanfilippo all of Walpole, and Judy and her husband Philip Santosuosso of Milton. Cherished grandfather of Peter & his wife Sheila of Conway, NH, Elizabeth, Caroline, Michael & Jackie Sanfilippo all of Walpole Brother of Robert Hunt and Richard Hunt both of Winter Haven, FL, and Theresa Keck of Fairfield, CA. also survived by many nieces and nephews including Barbara Mooney of Foxboro

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Rt. 27) @ Diamond Street Walpole on Tuesday, February 27th, 2007 @ 11AM. Visiting hours are Monday, February 26, 2007 from 4pm to 8pm at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment in Fairview Cemetery Hyde Park. Memorial donations may be made to: Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond Street Walpole, MA 02081.
