James Giammarco

January 14, 1921 — April 22, 2011

James Giammarco, Jr. age 90 years died in the Kindred Hospital at Leonard Morse in Natick, Massachusetts on Friday, April 22, 2011. Born in Stoughton, Massachusetts on January 14, 1921, he was the son of the late James and Marietta (Beraducci) Giammarco. He graduated from Stoughton High School with the class of 1939, and continued his education the the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He has been a resident of East Walpole, Massachusetts since 1950 moving there from Canton, Massachusetts.

Mr. Giammarco was the co-owner of the Bonfatti Constrution Company for over 30 years, and retired in 1987.

He was a member of the Walpole VFW Post 5188, the Boston Bricklayers Union Local #1, and the Knights of Columbus Walpole Council 1319.

Mr. Giammarco was and avid gardener and a skilled woodworker, making dollhouses for friends, relatives and fundraisers.

Beloved husband of the late Louise (Repani) Giammarco and the late Theresa (Bonfatti) Giammarco. Loving father of Thomas Giammarco of East Walpole, Paula Lochhead of Nashua, the late James Giammarco, III and the late Dorinda Gillison. Cherished grandfather of 6. Brother of Lena Kenefick of Canton and the late Rudolph Giammarco. Stepfather of Robert Cento of E. Walpole, Lawrence Giandomenico of Plattsburg, NY and their families.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church 176 Washington Street East Walpole on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 9AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 4PM to 8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. Memorial donations may be made to: United Way 51 Sleeper St. Boston, MA 02210 or the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
