James Charles Gage

December 1, 1941 — May 14, 2012

Mr. James Charles Gage age 70 years died in the Norwood Hospital, Norwood, Masschusetts on Monday, May 14, 2012. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire on December 1, 1941, he was the son of Robert B. and Irene L. (Goulet) Gage. He was raised in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School with the Class of 1960. He entered into the United States Navy and served on the USS Boxer during the Vietnam War.

Upon his return home he attended Quincy Junior College, and earned his degree in the Dental Technician Program. He worked for various dental companies, before moving into automotive sales. Mr. Gage worked as a sales representative for Astro Automotive Supply and retired from Empire Automotive Supply.

A resident of Walpole for the past 2 years, he moved there from Braintree where he was a resident for 40 years. Mr. Gage was a member of the Braintree Bowling League, he played tennis, loved classic cars and car shows. He coached basketball for the St. Francis of Assisi Church League. An avid card player, he had a standing game every Saturday night with his family. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

Beloved husband of Carol A. (O'Brien) Gage. Loving father of Julie A. and her huband John Gioioso, and James M. Gage all of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Sophia, Angelo, Anthony Gioioso and Michael Gage. Brother of Eleanor E. Fitzgerald of Londonderry, NH, Robert B. Gage, Jr, Peter L. Gage both of East Weymouth, Ann M. Valcourt, Susan J. Werner both of Scituate, Patricia R. Gage of East Weymouth, Steven R. Gage of Erie, CO, Edward J. Gage of Kingston, Christine E. Chessia of Scituate and the late Ireane M. Treanor. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church Diamond Street at East Street (Route 27) Walpole on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 4 to 8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
