James C. Donegan

James C. Donegan, age 71, passed away in his Norfolk, Massachusetts home on Saturday, July 4, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Christopher James Donegan & Eleanor (Walsh) Donegan Riley. He graduated from Boston Technical High School with the class of 1961 and later from Northeastern University with the class of 1966. James was called from the United States Army Reserve to serve his country during the Vietnam War. He returned to the Army Reserve, where he was stationed with the Army Corps of Engineers for 36 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He has most recently been a resident of Norfolk, however he had previously lived in Walpole, Massachusetts for 38 years.

James spent 23 years working for the Mass Port Authority as the Program Manager Bridge and Seaport.

Loving father of James J. and his wife Cleotilde Donegan of Kosovo, and Brian M. and his wife Kristen Donegan of Norfolk. Cherished grandfather of Lucas Donegan of Kosovo, Ellie and Finn Donegan of Norfolk. Brother of Eleanor and her husband Joseph Cummings of Mashpee, William and his wife Michele Donegan of Newport, NH, Daniel and his wife Eileen Donegan of New Holland, PA and Paul and his wife Catherine Donegan of Hyde Park

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend James's Life Celebration on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 9 to 9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common St Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Jude's Church 86 Main Street, Norfolk on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Norfolk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the panmasschallenge.org, for his son Brian Donegan's ride.
