James H. Davies

James H. Davies age 78 years died in his Norfolk, Massachusetts home on Monday, November 9, 2009. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 10, 1931; he was the son of the late James H. and Loraine (Luenzmann) Davies. He graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee with the class of 1950. He later earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, graduating in 1954. He has been a resident of Norfolk, Massachusetts for the past 49 years.

He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Northrop Corporation in Norwood, Massachusetts for 32 years; retiring in 1993.

Mr. Davies was very active in community affairs, serving on the Norfolk School Board, the King Phillip School Board, and the Norfolk Water Commissioners Board. He was a member of the Norfolk Lions Club, and was the past president on two separate occasions.

He would umpire for the girls softball league, and was a Cub Scout leader both in Norfolk.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing in Nantucket, skiing, backpacking, woodworking, and restoring his Austin Healey.

Beloved husband of Joan B. (Balletti) Davies. Loving father of Joan B. Warlop of Niskayuna, New York, Joy L. Russo of Mansfield, James H. Davies, III of Anaheim Hills, California, and Jay C. Davies of Plymouth. Cherished grandfather of Paul Warlop, Jacquelyn Davies, Jay Davies, II, Caitlyn Davies, and Brenna Davies. Brother of Loraine VanEerden of Wisconsin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 11AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 4-8PM. Interment is private.
