James J. Connors

James J. Connors, age 60, died in his Mansfield, Massachusetts home on Thursday, April 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on September 19, 1954, he was rasied in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School with the class of 1973. Jim was a two season athlete in high school playing both football and baseball. In his senior year, he was appointed Captain of the Sharon High School Eagles Football Team. After graduation, Jim attended Norwich University and was a member of their Rubgy Team. He finished his education at Control Data Tech with a concentration in Computer Science. With his background in computers, Jim took a position as a computer technician with the Memorex Corporation.

Jim married the love of his life, Karen Connors, on March 6, 1982. Together they made their home in Canton, Massachusetts, before moving to Berkley, Massachusetts. Shortly after his wedding, Jim left Memorex and took a position with the Amdahl Corporation as a computer technician.

While living in Berkley, Jim and Karen welcomed both of their children, Jim and Kristen. Jim moved his young family to his current home in Mansfield, Massachusetts in 1992. In 2000, after 17 years with the Amdahl Corporation, Jim began working for EMC in the advance system test group, working as a software test engineer, before becoming a software engineer.

He was an avid golfer and New England Sports Fan. As a devoted father, Jim provided constant support to his children throughout all of their sports programs. He truly had a zest for life and, along side his wife, Karen, enjoyed traveling and fine dining.

Loving father of James A. Connors of Boston and Kristen E. Connors of Boston.
Devoted son of John T. Connors of Brownfield, ME and the late Dolores M. (Green) Connors.
Brother of John T. "Jackie" Connors of Sharon and Michael C. Connors of Mansfield.
Cherished uncle of Maura Connors, Katherine Connors, Daniel Connors, Kevin Connors, Lauren Connors, and Erin Connors.
Also survived by his God Children Gregory Niethold, Julianne Connors and his devoted clan of cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Jim's Life Celebration on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 4-8 PM and Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 11-11:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, 330 Pratt Street, Mansfield on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 12:00 Noon.
