Mr. James P. Berluti age 87 years died in his Walpole home surrounded by his family on Monday December 13, 2010. Born in Boston on October 8, 1923, he was the son of Antonio and Valburga (Morini) Berluti. He moved to East Boston then was raised in Revere. He graduated from Revere High School with the Class of 1942. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served his country in the South Pacific during World War II Upon his return home he attended and graduated from Boston University in 1954 and later earned a Masters Degree from BU.
A retired Vice President for the Kennedy Sinclair Company, Inc of New Jersey, he was responsible for training the personnel. He was the former Director of Admissions at Boston Univerity, former Dean of Men at Bryant College and former Professor of Accounting at Bryant College. He was once the chief accountant at the Hamden Brewery.
Mr. Burluti has been a resident of Walpole since 1963 moving there from Cumberland, RI.
Mr. Berluti was the former President of Sons of Italy and a member of the Walpole High School Booster Clubs. He was the number 1 fan for all of his children and grandchildrens activities.
He loved music and dancing. He was an avid reader, who could talk with anyone about anything.
Beloved husband of Rachel M. (Paciotti) Berluti. Loving father of Marilyn R. Slutsky of Canton, Dianne M. Gallotta of Braintree, Robert R. Berluti of Westwood and James A. Berluti of Westwood. Cherished grandfather of Harrison Slutsky,Leanne and Alyson Gallotta, Alex, Bo, Mathew and Michael Berluti, Nick, Ali, James, and Rachel Berluti. Brother of Dina Ambrosini, Iole Mulley, Adam Berluti, Dolores Sanso all of CT , the late Gina Fulvi and Mary Martin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial l that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Rt 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
