James L. Anglin

December 28, 1938 — May 12, 2018

James L. Anglin, age 79, passed away in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Saturday, May 12, 2018. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Dolan) Anglin. He was raised in Dorchester on the corner of Neponset Avenue and Victory Road and attended Saint Ambrose Grammar School. Jim went on to graduate from Matignon High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country while stationed at the Sandia Air Base in New Mexico. He served on active duty with the Military Police, guarding the principle nuclear weapons arsenal, before spending another three years with the Army Reserve. Upon his return home to Boston, Jim quickly found work with the Boston Globe, working as a printer.

While working at the Globe, Jim met his soon to be wife, Frances E. Cone. They were married on June 15, 1963 and made their home together in Brockton, Massachusetts, where they raised their four children, Michael, Danny, Mary Beth, and Matt. Jim took a promotion to production manager, working many long hours, however, as a devoted father, he never missed his children's games or school events.

A few years before his retirement, Jim and Fran purchased a home in South Yarmouth, where they enjoyed spending their summers. After his retirement in 1999, they moved to their Cape Cod home, selling their house in Brockton. Jim became an active member of his new community, joining the Blue Rock Heights Association, the Retired Men's Club of Cape Cod, and enjoyed playing rounds of golf at the Bass River and Bayberry Golf Club. In 2014, Jim and Fran settled in Walpole, to be closer to their family, and joined Saint Mary's Church in East Walpole.

Loving father of Michael Anglin and his wife Pam of Cary, NC, Danny Anglin and his wife Jen of Norfolk, VA, Mary Beth Byrnes and her husband Paul of Walpole, Matthew Anglin and his wife Amy Anglin of Walpole.
