Helen T. (Boland) Mayne, age 89, died peacefully on August 22, 2015. Born in Medford, Massachusetts on October 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Dennis J. and Bridget A. (Doyle) Boland. Helen was raised in Malden, Massachusetts and graduated from Girl's Catholic High School with the class of 1943. She continued her education at the Katherine Gibbs School, graduating in 1945. After graduation, she was employed in several different financial offices.
Helen met her future husband, Joseph J. Mayne, Jr. through a friend while he was serving in the Army Air Corps. They were married on April 24, 1948, making their home in Winchester. As their family grew, Helen and Joe settled in Malden where she raised and cared for her family. In their retirement, Helen and Joe moved to Centerville and enjoyed the Cape for several years. Because of health problems, Helen and Joe moved to Norfolk to be closer to their family.
Helen was an avid Red Sox fan. She enjoyed watching daily Mass, playing cards, doing puzzles and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Loving mother of Dennis J. and his wife Jill Mayne of Westboro, Donna M. and her husband Robert Anderson of Norfolk, Richard P. Mayne of Malden, Joseph and his wife Grace Mayne of Bedford and Paula Mayne of Medford.
Cherished grandmother of Douglas and his wife Brooke Mayne, Kristina Mayne, Peter Anderson, Lindsay and her husband Brandon Coldwell, Andrew and his wife Jillian Mayne, Gregory Mayne, Jeffrey Mayne, Christopher Mayne, and Brandi Lee Rand. Great grandmother of Samantha, Cooper, Jude and Charlie.
Sister of the late William Boland, the late Pauline Boland and the late Mary Roche.
Sister-in-law of Samuel Gualtieri, Martin Roche, and Marie Mayne.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at St. Jude's Church, 86 Main Street, Norfolk on Thursday from 10 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Jude's Church at 11AM. Interment will take place privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Jude's Church, P.O. Box 305, Norfolk, MA 02056. Arrangements by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, Walpole.
