Harold L. Paul age 87 years died in the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, Massachusetts on Thursday, July 21, 2011. Born in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts on July 3, 1924; he was the son of the late Robert E. and Rose (Bearson) Paul. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1953 moving there from Norwood.
Mr. Paul was the Assistant Manager at Kennedy's Clothing, which was located at the corner of Summer Street and Washington Street in Boston.
He served with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Disability as a Community Access Monitor for over 20 years.
Mr. Paul was a member of the DAV Chapter 90 in Norwood and was a Past Commander and the Walpole VFW Post 5188.
Locally, he served in Walpole as a RTM for 10 years, on the Zoning Board for 13 years, and on the Chair Handicap Access Committee for 10 years.
In addition, Mr. Paul volunteered his time at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.
He was an avid Boston Sports fan and loved to follow the Red Sox.
Loving husband of the late Barbara A. (Bauer) Paul. Beloved father and father in law of Nancy Paul and Peter Prindle of Medfield, Linda and Charles Hobbs of Foxboro, Roberta and Cameron West of California, Sidney Paul and Michael McKenna of Virginia, and Barry Paul and Paula McCusker of Southboro. Cherished grandfather of Kevin Hobbs, Monika and Jim Coleman, Alicia and Scott Charette, Kai West, and Matthew and Melissa McCusker; great grandfather of Carley Hobbs and Jake Charette. Brother of Sylvia Markell of Falmouth and the late David Paul.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 3-6PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole.
