Greer Bennett Hill

October 1, 1926 — April 3, 2007

Mr. Greer Bennett Hill age 80 died in the Harrington House Nursing Home, Walpole on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007. Born on October 1, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Horace G. and Arline H. (Rorke) Hill.

A 1944 graduate of the Pennsylvania Charter Prep School in Germantown, Pennsylvania, he then earned a Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Class of 1948.

He worked as a chemical engineer for over 40 years, and retired in 1988 from the Systems Engineering Company in Canton, where he worked on Pollution Controls.

A resident of Wrentham since 2000, he had lived in Walpole from 1971 to 2000.

Mr. Hill was very active in the United Church in Walpole, having served on many committees, and having chaired many of them. Along with his wife they were members of the Church Choir for 30 years, and he was the choir librarian for 17 years.

Mr. Hill loved the outdoors, he loved to plant and take care of his yard.

Beloved husband of Marilyn P. (Peecook) Hill Loving father of Geoffrey S. Hill of Milford, Kathryn G. Taksery, and Karen H. Maloney both of Walpole Cherished grandfather of 7 Brother of Peter W. Hill of Philadelphia, PA, the late Horace G. Hill, III, and the late John H. Hill. Also survived by many nieces and nephews

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Service that will be held in The United Church in Walpole 30 Common Street Walpole on Saturday, April 21, 2007 @ 10:00 AM.
