Grace E. O'Brien

Miss Grace E. O'Brien age 88 years died in the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood, Massachusetts on Thursday, December 4th, 2008. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 2, 1920 to her parents John J. and Grace E. (Cummings) O'Brien. She graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1938, entered into Chandler School for Women and graduated in 1940.

Miss O'Brien was the Administrative Assistant to the Chairman of the New England Merchants Bank, which was a division of Bank of New England , which later became Fleet Bank. She worked in this capacity for over 22 years and retired in 1985.

A resident of Norwood since 1985, moving there from East Walpole where she had spent 35 years.

a volunteer at the Norwood Senior Citizens and at the Norwood Food Pantry.

Beloved daughter of the late John J. and Grace E. (Cummings) O'Brien Devoted sister of Marion L. Pare' and Ruth M. White both of Walpole also survived by several nieces,nephews,grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route #27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 @ 11AM. Visiting hours are Monday, December 8, 2008 from 2pm to 4pm only, in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole . Interment Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
