Glenna Marie Mooney, age 59, passed away in her South Walpole, Massachusetts Home on Thursday, July 20, 2017. Born in Lewiston, Idaho, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Dorothy (Webber) Olin. She was raised in Grangeville and as a young girl developed her love for animals. Her love focused on horses, and she regularly rode the family's Shetland Pony, Buck, who most everyone else disliked. Glenna graduated from Lewiston High School with the Class of 1976, before earning her Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Psychology and Criminal Justice in 1980 from Gonzaga University.
After moving to Washington state, she met the love of her life, William J. Mooney, one night at the Buddha Room in Louie's Chinese Restaurant in Spokane. The young couple was married on August 4, 1984 back in Glenna's home state of Idaho. After making their home together in Rancho Cucamonga, California, they moved east, settling in South Walpole, Massachusetts in 1987. Glenna took a position with Norfolk Human Services before starting work with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Department of Mental Health. She retired in 2014, as a Case Management Supervisor, after many years of dedicated service to the residents of Massachusetts.
Glenna's love for animals continued throughout her life and her home could always be found with dogs roaming in it. She deeply loved her two dogs, Bijou and Rico, who remained by her side constantly. Glenna alongside her husband Bill, loved traveling together and she had a special place in her heart for the Pacific Northwest. However, nothing beat being home with Bill, enjoying their 5:00 cocktail hour, enjoying martinis together. Glenna was the type of person that others could rely on. She was the "rock" amongst her siblings and was always there for anyone who needed a hand. More than anything, Glenna loved spending time with her family and friends, who meant the absolute world to her.
Beloved wife of William J. Mooney.
Devoted step daughter of Doris Olin of Lewiston, Idaho.
Loving sister of Terry Olin of Omaha, Nebraska, Perry Olin of Lewiston, Idaho, Ed Olin of Portland, Oregon, and Robert Olin of Battle Ground, Washington.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
