Gladys Marjorie Leonard

Gladys Marjorie (Caiger) Leonard age 84 years died in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Sunday, February 17, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter G. and Ella (Simon) Caiger. She was raised in Roslindale and has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1964.

Mrs. Leonard was primarily a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. After raising her family, she went to work as a waitress at the Golden Steer and worked in the Country Store in South Walpole.

She enjoyed shopping and socializing with a passion for yard sales and bagin hunting. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family. She was always involved with her children, grandchildren, and many close friends.

Beloved wife of the late George C. Leonard. Loving mother of Cheryl L. Palmer Sampson of Mashpee, Linda A. Palmer of CT, Steven W. Palmer and his wife Mary-Ellen of Walpole, Darlene M. Leonard of Walpole, George C. Leonard of Walpole, Mark C. Leonard of Walpole, Peter C. Leonard of Maui, HI and the late Joyce Leonard. Cherished grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 6. Sister of Dorothy Mallett of Trinity, FL, the late Evelyn Costello, and the late Walter Caiger. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the celebration of life at the Norwood Elks Club 152 Winslow Avenue Norwood on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 2-6PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Thoracic Surgery Oncology Fund to support research at Brigham and Women's Hospital c/o Development Office 116 Huntington Avenue 5th Floor Boston, MA 02116.
