Gertrude "Trudy" A. (Chambers) Leonard, age 83, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 in the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Born in Walpole on January 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late William and Lottie C. (Vickery) Chambers. She graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1951.
Trudy spent many years in the Athletic Department of the Sharon Public School System, working as an administrative assistant in addition to raising and caring for her family in the Town of Sharon.
Beloved wife of the late Donald P. Leonard.
Loving mother of Paula J. and her husband Joseph Fitzpatrick of Dedham, Patricia MacDougall and her husband Edwin S. Little of Sharon, Pamela and her husband Robert Pierce of Attleboro, Donald and his wife Jennifer Leonard of Quincy, William and his wife Jennifer A. Leonard of Raynham, and L. Scott and his Kimberly Leonard of Franklin.
Cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren
Sister of David Chambers and his wife Linda of Walpole, Eva Cleary of Foxboro, the late William Chambers, Richard Chambers, Leo Chambers, and James Chambers, Jean Base and Tina Seskevich.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Trudy's Life Celebration on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 4-8 PM and on Wednesday August 30, 2017 from 9:00 to 9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage Street, Sharon on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to AMEGO Autism Program, 33 Perry Ave, Attleboro MA 02703.
