Gertrude J. Cantwell

Mrs. Gertrude J. "Jerry" (Lydon) Cantwell age 86 years died in the Thomas Upham House in Medfield, Massachusetts on Tuesday, June 21st, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 10, 1925, she was the daughter of Timothy P. and Gertrude J. (Cohen) Lydon. She graduated from the Girls High School in Boston, Massachusetts with the Class of 1943. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 55 years moving there from Boston.

Along with her husband Laurier, she was the co owner of Dudley Exterminating Company based in Walpole for over 50 years.

She loved to travel especially to Cape Cod and enjoyed listening to Irish Music. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of Laurier J. Cantwell for 62 years. Loving mother of Robert A. Cantwell, Elaine M. Gazerro both of Walpole, Lee A. Cantwell of Wrentham, Joanne L. and her husband Peter T. Bethoney of Medfield, Timothy P. Cantwell and Jill E. and her husband John T. Bowen all of Walpole. Cherished grandmother of Ann Marie, Kristen, Jamie Gazerro, Christopher and Laurier Pungitore, Peter and Alyssa Bethoney, Julia and Aidan Bowen, and the late Jenna Pungitore. Great grandmother of Dennis Tower and Michaela Lynch. Sister of Paul Lydon of W. Roxbury, the late Stephen Lydon and the late Joseph Lydon.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:30AM . Visiting hours are Friday, June 24, 2011 from 4PM to 8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Rural Cemetery in Walpole.
