Gerard C. Lambert

January 21, 1947 — May 7, 2023

Gerard C. Lambert, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Ferdinand G. and Mary F. (Conzano) Lambert.  Gerry was raised in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston, where as a young boy, he spent countless hours working in his family's market, Lambert's Rainbow Fruits in Dorchester.  Upon entering high school at Catholic Memorial, Gerry took a position with his family's sister store, Bargain Center, in Quincy.  Following his graduation from CM in 1964, Gerry left the family business, pursuing his education at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire.  After his return home to Boston, Gerry transferred to Boston State College and returned to his family's store.

Gerry married his beloved wife, Marie C. Tirrell, on September 7, 1968, in her hometown of Hull, Massachusetts.  The young couple made their home together in Hull, and Gerry continued his career with Lambert's, making the trip into the city every day.  In 1971, Gerry oversaw the opening of Lambert's Westwood location on Route 1, and six years later, he moved his family to Walpole, Massachusetts to be closer to the store.  Gerry's position grew to store manager, working diligently to ensure the business ran smoothly, and with twenty-three years of experience in Westwood, Gerry then joined his brothers at the Franklin location in 1994.  Ten years later, Gerry celebrated his "retirement" from Lambert’s, venturing out to Shaw's Supermarket in Medway, bringing his skill set to the fruit and produce department.  Spending thirty-three years working sixty hours or more every week made Gerry realize that one job wasn't quite enough to keep him busy, so he reached out to Kohl's at the Walpole Mall for a second position to occupy his time.

When he wasn't hard at work, Gerry looked forward to giving back to his community through the Walpole Little League program.  He spent 35 years coaching the Orioles in the Walpole Little League, most of them alongside his dear friend, Ronnie Black.  For Gerry, sports did not end on the little league fields of Walpole, but carried home with him, as he loved watching the Boston hometown teams whenever he could.  Most of all, Gerry was devoted to his family, ensuring he was on the sidelines to support his children and grandchildren in all of their athletic competitions and events.

Beloved husband of Marie C. "Mimi" Lambert.

Loving father of Gerard S. Lambert and his wife, Diana, of Westwood, Keith G. Lambert and his wife, Robin, of Swansea, and Brian C. Lambert and his wife, Melissa, of Whitinsville.

Cherished grandfather of Amy, Allison, Aaron, and Ryan.

Brother of Mary Good and her late husband, Arthur, of Florida, Stephen Lambert and his wife, Karen, of Canton, Christopher Lambert and his wife, Susan, of Westwood, Sean Lambert and his wife, Celeste, of Rhode Island, Joanne Rogers of Marshfield, Bernadette Lambert of Hull, Geoffrey Lambert and his wife, Judy, of New Hampshire, Gregory Lambert and his wife, Rhonda, of Bellingham, and the late Vincent Lambert and his surviving wife, Karen, of Florida.

Also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
