Gerald Francis Blair

Gerald Francis "Gerry" Blair, age 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025 at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 7, 1952, he was the son of the late Warren A. and Ellen T. (O'Brien) Blair. Gerry was raised in Roslindale, Massachusetts. He attended and graduated from Catholic Memorial High School, Class of 1970. He continued on to Suffolk University and in 1974 he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree (majoring in English Literature). He went on to Suffolk University Law School earning his Juris Doctorate in 1977.

Following the completion of his first year of law school, Gerry married the love of his life, Mary Kathleen Terrell, on June 7th, 1975, at Saint Mary's Church in Dedham. Gerry and Kathy settled in Walpole where they raised three children: Katie, Carolyn, and Jay. After several decades in practice with other firms, Gerry ventured out to start his own practice, working alongside his wife, Kathy, who served as his legal secretary and office manager. After forty-four years of practice, he took a reluctant retirement from law.

Gerry was quick-witted and steady, with careful analytical skills and a diplomatic nature that made him an excellent attorney. He used his creative, resourceful nature and passion for the law to fearlessly advocate for his clients. His sincere care for others, strong ethics and integrity made him successful at his work. Being an attorney was an integral part of who he was and how he thought, and he derived a sense of true meaning and enjoyment from it. Clients arrived as acquaintances and often became friends.

He was a devoted husband and father and a genuine family man. Selfless in nature, he put everyone’s needs before his own. He constantly cracked jokes and saw the humor in everything. His warm and jovial nature and charismatic, inclusive attitude made him friends wherever he went. He was a rare gem of a person and was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Kathleen (Terrell) Blair and his daughter, Katie Blair, his son, Jay Blair and his wife, Roseanne Currie. He was father to the late Carolyn E. (Blair) Veneri and her surviving husband, Harry J. Veneri and cherished grandfather of Vincent H. Veneri. He is also survived by his brothers, Warren A. Blair, III and his wife, Catherine, Paul T. Blair and his wife, Maureen, and his sister, Maryellen T. Blair. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
