George M. Wise, Jr., age 83, passed away in his Sharon, Massachusetts home on Thursday, June 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Franklin, Massachusetts on October 16, 1933, he was the son of the late George M. and Ebba L.W. (Anderson) Wise. He was raised in East Walpole, Massachusetts and graduated from Walpole High School. After graduation, George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1956, after earning the rank of Specialist Third Class. Upon his return home to Walpole, he continued working as a mechanic at Bird and Son in East Walpole in addition to taking courses at the Wentworth Institute of Technology.
George proposed to Carol A. Lundrigan on December 25, 1957 and the young couple was married less than a year later, on November 29, 1958. They made their home in Sharon, Massachusetts, where they welcomed two daughters, Debra Ann and Pamela Jo. He continued working at Bird and Son until they closed and George took the maintenance mechanic position at Factory Mutual in Norwood.
He enjoyed all things mechanical and could be found working on various cars and using his tractor, bulldozer, or backhoe to work around his yard. At the end of the day, George always looked forward to the wonderful meal his wife, Carol, had prepared for him.

Loving father of Debra A. Merritt and her late husband Daniel of North Easton and Pamela J. Beineke and her husband Gary of Sharon.
Cherished grandfather of Stephanie Martin and her husband Christopher of Sharon, Brandon Merritt of North Easton, and Austin Merritt of North Easton and great grandfather of Evan, Maddison, Kayleigh, Carter, Logan, and Parker.
Brother of Charles Wise of FL, Rosemary Robbins of FL, the late Lida Carpenter, and the late Philip Wise.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend George's Life Celebration on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 4-7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
