George Cameron Leonard

George Cameron Leonard, Jr., age 52, passed away peacefully in his Norwood, Massachusetts home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Born in Norwood on March 10, 1963, the son of the late George C. and Gladys M. (Caiger) Leonard. He was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts and graduated from Tri County Regional High School, class of 1982.

After high school, George worked in Walpole at the Walpole Woodworkers. He moved to Cape Cod and worked at E.F. Winslow Plumbing and Heating.

Devoted and loving father of his beautiful daughter, Olivia Riley Leonard of Swansea.
Cherished brother of Cheryl Sampson of Mashpee, Linda Palmer of Connecticut, Steven Palmer and his wife Mary-Ellen of Walpole, Peter Leonard of Maui,
Darlene Leonard of Norwood, and Mark Leonard of Norwood. Devoted uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

George was a charismatic and sweet man, a born comedian and the life of every party. He loved family gatherings, good food, stand-up comedy, classic rock, and the Patriots.

His life changed a few months ago when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Throughout his illness, George remained hopefully optimistic about his future. George loved being home surrounded by his family. He was incredibly grateful to receive compassionate care from his family and his lifelong friend, Michael Tracey of Walpole.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a graveside service that will be held in Saint Francis Cemetery, Washington Street, Walpole on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted at the request of the family.
