George Edward Caterino, age 84, passed away in the Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Born in Arlington, Massachusetts on March 17, 1932, he was the son of the late Albert and Rachel (Casazza) Caterino.
George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed across the United States and spent some time in North Africa. He was honorably discharged in May of 1956, after earning the rank of Airman 2nd Class.
After his discharge, George married Rose Ann Arcuri on June 1, 1957 and they made their home in Newton, Massachusetts together. He took a position with the Hanscom Air Force Base Fire Department. George earned the rank of Captain before his retirement in 1982, after 26 years of dedicated service to the Base. In 2010, George settled in Walpole, Massachusetts.
Beloved husband of the late Rose Ann (Arcuri) Caterino.
Loving father of Albert Michael Caterino of Walpole and the late Richard Edward Caterino.
Cherished grandfather of Catherine, Christina, and Cassandra and great grandfather of Logan.
Brother of the late Albert Caterino.
