Genevieve A. (Amaral) Minkin, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Kindley Assisted Living at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts on October 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Maria (Gaspar Da Rocha) Amaral. She was raised in Fall River Massachusetts, and graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Hearts High School with the Class of 1953. Genevieve continued her education at Thibodeau Business College earning her junior accounting certificate in 1954 and Bradford Durfee Technical Institute.
Genevieve married her beloved husband, Alan Minkin, on June 9, 1956, at St. Michaels Church in Fall River. Together they made their home in North Merrick, Long Island, NY and then settled in North Walpole, Massachusetts where they raised their family and she lived for over 50 years.
Genevieve was active in the Walpole Public School system administration and worked for many years at Cullinet Software Company in Westwood, Massachusetts and then Computer Associates in Framingham, Massachusetts until 2007.
Genevieve was a lover of history, the arts and foremost her family.

Loving mother of Jennifer Towne of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, Paul Minkin of Gaithersburg, Maryland, David Minkin of Foxboro, Massachusetts, Kenneth Minkin of Canton, Massachusetts, Caroline Minkin of Wrentham, Massachusetts and Jonathan Minkin of Wrentham, Massachusetts.
Cherished grandmother of fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Sister of Antone Amaral of Tiverton, Rhode, Island, Kathleen Mederios of Carver, Massachusetts and Michael Amaral of Fall River, Massachusetts.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Genevieve's visitation on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 9 to 10 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole following the visitation at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Genevieve's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
