G. Richard Dionne

G. Richard Dionne, 78, of East Walpole died on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood. Devoted husband of 45 years to Evelyn T. (Paolino). Loving father of Edward J. of East Walpole. Beloved son of the late Albert and Eva (Vincent) Dionne. Brother to Gertrude Roy of Attleboro and the late Vincent Dionne, Jeanette Gorman, and Vivian E. Poole. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Taunton, he grew up in Rehoboth, and graduated from Case High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 through 1955 and attained the rank of Specialist Third Class E-4. He later graduated from Lowell Technological Institute with an associate degree in engineering. He worked for many years at Honeywell Information Systems in Billerica until his retirement. Mr. Dionne has been a resident of East Walpole since 1970 moving from Newton. A parishioner of St. Mary's Church, he enjoyed woodworking, home-improvement projects, and gardening.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole on Saturday, January 29 at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, January 28 from 4-8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole.
