Frank A. Noyes

Frank A. Noyes age 85 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Born on the island of Martha's Vinyard in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts on December 3, 1923; he was the son of the late Percy and Lesbia (Crouse) Noyes. He graduated from Oak Bluffs High School with the class of 1941. Mr. Noyes served his country in the United States Navy during World War II as a Corpsman on Iwo Jima. He earned two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. After the war he attended McLean Hospital, where he earned his degree in Nursing. He later went on to graduate from Boston University with his BSN and his Masters Degree in Nursing Administration. Mr. Noyes has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1967, moving from Millis, Massachusetts.

He was an Administrator for the Department of Mental Health in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 30 years.

Mr. Noyes was an active member of the Walpole Senior Center, a member of the Walpole Council on Aging, a member of the Veterans Club within the Council on Aging, a member of the DAV, a past member of the Millis, Massachusetts Knights of Columbus, a member of the Mass Retirees, and a member of the American Legion.

He was a Bingo Caller, a Little League Coach, and a Sunday School Teacher at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole and St. Thomas' Church in Millis.

Mr. Noyes enjoyed collecting both coins and stamps, fishing, golfing, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of Edith P. (Pane) Noyes. Loving father of Judith Carlson and her husband Richard of Easton, Frank A. Noyes, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Hudson, David Noyes and his wife Denise of Plymouth, Richard Noyes and his wife Karen of Walpole and the late Peter Noyes. Cherished papa of 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, March 20, 2009 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is private.
