Francis J. Townsend

Mr. Francis J. "Frank" Townsend age 73 years died in the Timber Ridge Hospital in Ocala , Florida on Sunday , September 2nd, 2007. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of the late Frank M. & Delia (McDonnell) Townsend. Raised in Walpole, where he graduated from Walpole High School With the Class of 1953. He attended the Stockbridge Arborist School part of University of Massachusetts Amherst.

A resident of Walpole for most of his life, having moved to Ocala , Florida .

An arborist for many years, he worked for Lowden Tree Specialist for over 35 years and retired from there in 1994.

A member of the National Arborist Society and the Massachusetts Nurseryman Association.

Beloved husband of Lillian P. (Mulkern) Townsend Loving father of Linda A. Gulla of Walpole, Paul F. Townsend of Sharon, and Stephen J. Townsend of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Diana Gulla, Jessica Gulla both of Walpole, and John Townsend , James Townsend both of Sharon.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Rt 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Monday, September 10th, 2007 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Sunday afternoon from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery Walpole.
