Francis P. “Mac” McCarthy, 86, of Lenox, MA, formerly of Walpole, passed away Wednesday, June 8th surrounded by loved ones including his loving companion, Betty Davis.
Raised in Dorchester, Frank graduated from Boston English High School in 1954 and served as a US Naval Reserve Airman from 1954 – 1962, and enjoyed a long career as a Compositor and Production Manager in Boston and Providence, R.I.
Our Dad, Papa, and Uncle Mac enjoyed being surrounded by family while sitting by his pool with a Manhattan in hand. He loved his “naps” any time of day, the acceleration of his Toyota Supra, and plenty of adventures including white water rafting, sky diving, race car driving, hot air ballooning, and camping. His most cherished time was the planning of several family reunions over the years where all his grandchildren came together to create so many memories. As a hobby, Mac kept in touch with his family and friends via Facebook.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy F. McCarthy and grandson Sean P. McCarthy and survived by Cynthia A. (Mark) Rafanelli of Exeter, RI., Dr. Kevin (Lindee) McCarthy of San Antonio, TX., and Steve (Margaret) McCarthy of Walpole; Debbie (Mark) Richardson of Lee and Valerie (Marge Braunstein) McCarthy of Ponte Vedra, FL., one brother Arthur (Linda) McCarthy of Plymouth and two sisters, Tina (Jim) Kentley of Burlington, KY and Arlene “Beansie” (Skip) Bernhard of S.
