Francis Charles "Frank" Collins, age 71, passed away in the Harrington House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walpole on Tuesday, January 05, 2016. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 2, 1944, he was the son of the late Anthony and E. Agnes (Haney) Collins, and graduated from Roslindale High School.
As a proud member of the United Auto Worker's Union, Frank spent his working career with General Motors in the Parts Department working in both Westwood and Taunton.
He made his home in Norwood, Massachusetts for 35 years before moving to Walpole 8 years ago. He was an avid supporter of his grandchildren and loved attending all of their Wrentham Little League games. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, bowling, and taking camping trips to Jellystone Park in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.
Beloved husband of Dianne M. (Girvan) Collins.
Loving father of Karen M. and her husband Jay Legere of Wrentham.
Cherished grandfather of Shawn and Alyssa Legere both of Wrentham.
Brother of James Collins of VT, Dennis Collins of Wrentham, Judy Mahar of Attelboro, and Jo Lawlor of Pembroke.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Frank's Life Celebration on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 4-8PM and Friday, January 8, 2016 from 9-9:30AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Wrentham Youth Baseball League, Post Office Box 462, Wrentham, MA 02093.
