Francis J. Bourque

Francis J. Bourque, age 65, years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Born in Natick, Massachusetts on March 21, 1948, he was the son of the late Gerard D. and Grace L. (Hemenway) Bourque. Francis was a life long resident of Norfolk, Massachusetts. He graduated from King Philip Regional High School with the class of 1966, and married his wife Rita in August of 1966.

He owned and operated his own carpentry business for 30 years, retiring in 1991. In his retirement, Francis enjoyed fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, and annual fishing trips on Cape Cod.

Most of all, his life was centered around his family. Francis held family traditions highly and would love to attend family holidays and go on the family camping trip over Labor Day Weekend. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with his son, Bill, at his beach house in Harwich as well as on his boat, and spending time with his daughter, Brenda, at her campground in Rhode Island.

Beloved husband of Rita M. (Harper) Bourque. Loving father of Brenda L. Takessian of Uxbridge and William G. Bourque of Norfolk. Cherished grandfather of Christopher Videto of Uxbridge, Grace Takessian of Uxbridge, Benjamin Takessian of Uxbridge, Carlene Bourque of Norfolk, Elizabeth Bourque of Norfolk, and Louise Bourque of Norfolk. Brother of Donald Bourque of Millis, Gordon Bourque of Norfolk, Mary Fregeau of Norfolk, Michael Bourque of Norfolk, the late Yvonne Bourque, and the late Gerard Bourque. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Francis' Life Celebration on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 9-11AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
