Frances Mary Norbut

Frances Mary (Mullen) Norbut, age 98, passed away in the Walpole Healthcare Center on Sunday, November 18, 2018.  Born in Dedham, Massachusetts on November 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Thomas and Emeline (Martin) Mullen.  She was raised in Dedham, attending Dedham Public Schools, before graduating from Boston Trade High School for Sewing with the Class of 1939.  After graduation, Frannie took a position working as a seamstress at House of Tweed and LaMaisonettes on Newbury Street in Boston.

 

Frannie was introduced to her husband to be, Joseph John Norbut, through mutual friends.  They were married on May 16, 1959 at Saint Mary’s Church in Dedham.  The couple made their home together in Dedham and a few years later, they built a summer home in Assonet, Massachusetts.  Frannie left her career to become a homemaker.  Years later, she lovingly cared for elderly mother after her sister, Veronica, passed away, moving into her mother’s home to better provide care for Emeline before her passing.  After her mother’s passing, Frannie and Joe moved to their home in Assonet in 1993, where they became strong members of Saint Bernard’s Church.  As Frannie had a love for sewing, she quickly joined the Church Quilter’s Club.  Sadly, Joe passed away in 2000, however Frannie remained in their home in Assonet until 2015, when she settled into her new home at Cornerstone in Canton and later moved to Walpole.   

 

Frannie is survived and loved by Eric, Renae, Kendra, Robert, Hailey, Alyssa, Madisyn, Eric, Jessica, Brittany, Jonathan, Dylan, Bobby, Dina, Rhonda, Scott, Glenda, Barry, Kevin, Larry, and Susan.  She was more like a mother and grandmother to all of us.  Also survived by many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was the loving and caring sister of the late Ruth M. Simpson, Veronica Mullen, and Raymond Mullen.

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Frannie’s visitation on her 99th birthday, Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 10- 11:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 12:00 Noon.  Interment will follow in the Assonet Burial Ground.
