Filomena "PHIL" (Farinacci) DiNicola died peacefully with family around her on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the Epoch of Norton Nursing Home in Norton. She was born in Waterbury Connecticut, December 24th, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Anthony Farinacci and Concetta Codiani, both of Italy. The family moved to Walpole in 1919 when Phil was two years old. She attended Walpole High School, helped raise her younger siblings and then married the late Gino DiNicola at the Blessed Sacrament Church on Thanksgiving Day in 1939.
She was employed at M and M Casting of Norwood and later of Medfield, Morse Lumber and the P. Schafer Company, both of Walpole. She also commuted back to Waterbury during WWII to work for the war effort at Naugatuck Rubber.
She was the sister of the late Ann Davino, the late Tony Farinacci and the late Frank Farinacci, all of Walpole. She is survived by her sister Celia Davino, also of Walpole, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Rt 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, September 15th, 2007 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at the Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole. Visiting hours are Friday Evening from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
