F. Joseph Murray

Mr. F. Joseph Murray age 86 died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital, Norwood , Massachusetts on Sunday, January 14th, 2007. Born on October 16, 1920, in Jersey City, Nrw Jersey, the son of the late Joseph A. & Marion (Herrick) Murray. He graduated from Jersey City High School and went on for his degree at Saint Peter's College in Jersey City. Entered into the United States Coast Guard and served his country during World War II.

After his return he worked for Lederle Laboratory in New York as a Lab Technician , before he was advised to go on for his Masters Degree and Phd. He graduated with both from Purdue University. He took a job with the William S. Merrell Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, in Regulatory Affairs and later retired from the Richardson-Merrell Company in Connecticut as Vice President of Licensing a'" Business Development. He had over 32 years of service in his field.

An avid reader who also loved Dixie-Land Jazz

He was a member of the Big Brother Organization in Cincinnati.

Mr. Murray moved to Walpole 6 months ago to be closer to his two children that live here. He moved from Weston, Connecticut where thay had lived for 30+ years..

Beloved husband of Maryanne (Lamb) Murray Loving father of F. Jay Murray & his wife Kathy of San Jose, California, Janis Sorenson & her husband Rick of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Maureen Murray , Mark Murray & his wife Anne both of Walpole and Patricia Granzier & her husband Mark of Scarborough, Maine. Cherished grandfather of 9 and 1 great grandson

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Saint Timothy's Church 650 Nichols Street Norwood, Massachusetts on Thursday, January 18, 2007 @ 9AM . Visiting hours and interment are private. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana. Memorial donations may be made to: Saint Francis of Assissi Church Northfield Road Weston, Connecticut 06883.
