Evelyn T. Dionne

Evelyn T. (Paolino) Dionne, age 85, died peacefully in her East Walpole, Massachusetts home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, May 29, 2015. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe "Joseph" and Della (Lapadula) Paolino. She was raised in Providence and graduated from Providence High School with the Class of 1948. After high school, Evelyn worked as a secretary for various companies in the Providence area, including Old Colony Advertising Company, Star Market Company, and the Rhode Island Hospital Trust.

She married the love of her life, G. Richard Dionne on September 25, 1965 and together they made their home in Newton, Massachusetts, where she began working with the Education Development Center as an administrative assistant.

Evelyn and Richard settled in East Walpole, Massachusetts in 1970 and welcomed their son Edward in 1971. Evelyn left the business world to raise her son, but in 1978, she returned to work as a secretary at Raytheon Data Systems Co. in Norwood. In 1980, she found a new position at the Medical Information Bureau, Inc., where she worked as an Administrative Assistant to the President and Chief Operating Officer until her retirement in December of 1996.

She was a member of the Professional Secretaries International and served as president of the Fairbanks Chapter. She was also a member of the Walpole Footlights and the Norwood Italian Lodge Number 1235 of the Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA).

Evelyn loved to socialize with family and friends and enjoyed opportunities to travel, highlights of which included a trip to Hawaii in 2001 during which she renewed her wedding vows with Richard, a trip with her family to attend her niece's wedding in Aruba, and a trip with her son to Italy in 2011.

Loving mother of Edward J. Dionne of Canton.
Sister of late Daniel Paolino and the late Edmond Paolino.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Evelyn's Life Celebration on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 4-8 PM and Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 9-9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole.
