Emmanuel Urrea

Emmanuel Urrea, age 7, passed away on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 20, 2017, he was the son of Edinson Urrea and Daniela Alvarez. Emmanuel spent the first few years of his life in Revere, Massachusetts with his parents and his big brother Matthew, before moving to Walpole in 2020. He attended kindergarten at the Boyden Elementary School in Walpole, where he made many friends and enjoyed learning.

Emmanuel was a very happy child, who had a big heart and a big imagination. He loved to spend time with his family, whether it was going to see his favorite animal exhibits at the zoo, taking walks through the woods to find woodland creatures, or going to car shows, hoping to see some great Mustangs. He was always excited for family gatherings with his large extended family. Emmanuel's extended family was important to him, and he loved to see his family that lived locally and as far away as Colombia. Family gatherings were a fun opportunity to entertain his relatives, as he loved to be the center of attention, making everyone smile and laugh. His favorite family gatherings were for birthdays as Emmanuel loved to blow out the candles on the birthday cake.

Emmanuel's imagination took him on many adventures. He spent countless hours playing in the backyard or swimming with his brother Matthew. The pair also loved to play Minecraft and Roblox together, creating new worlds on the computer to explore. He also loved the Mario Brothers, watching all the movies and playing the games, especially if it included his favorite character, Bowser. Emmanuel loved Bowser and his song “Peaches” from the movie.

Emmanuel's favorite thing in the entire world though, was dinosaurs. Emmanuel could not get enough of dinosaurs - whether it was movies or shows or books about dinosaurs, dinosaur action figures, clothes and blankets with dinosaurs on them, or big stuffed animal dinosaurs - Emmanuel loved everything to do with them. Two years ago, his family took a trip to Orlando, Florida to visit Disney and Universal Studios so that he could see and ride the Jurassic Park rides. Back home he was thrilled to go to Dino Quest at Gillette Stadium and the Dino Safari at the Seaport in Boston, seeing his favorite dinosaurs up close. Knowing how much he loved dinosaurs, his school surprised him with a dinosaur birthday party, with teachers dressed up in dinosaur costumes and his friends sharing dinosaur themed art and decorations.

He was loved so deeply by all who knew him and will be missed.
