Emma M. Decristofaro

Mrs. Emma M. (Balerna) DeCristofaro age 80 years passed peacefully on Monday Evening, November 6th, 2006. Born in Boston, Massachusetts , the daughter of the late Marco & Maria (Brogna) Balerna. Raised in Roslindale, Massachusetts, she graduated from Roslindale High School with the Class of 1944.

A resident of Walpole for the past 58 years. Along with her husband Mario, they have owned and operated the Walpole Motel on Route 1 in Walpole for over 50 years. This was one of the first motels along Route 1.

Mrs. DeCristofaro enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, her crafts, home decorating, exercising, and in the past she loved to both roller skate and ice skate. She loved to dance. Her greatest joy was to be with her family.

Beloved wife of Mario J. DeCristofaro Loving mother of Jeanne Fegan of Franklin, Janet Mastromatteo of Norton, Joanne Hall of Redmond, Washington, and Patti Balhorn of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Cherished grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 4 Sister of Lillian Russo, John Balerna, Eugene Balerna, Alfred Balerna, and Joseph Balerna.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church Route 27 (East Street) @ Diamond Street Walpole on Friday Morning, November 10th, 2006 @ 10 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday Afternoon & Evening 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Interment in Terrace Hill Cemetery Walpole. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Rehab Hospital of the Cape and Islands (RHCI) , 311 Service Road Sandwich, Massachusetts 02537.
