Emily Mary (Lynch) Bodge, age 92, passed away peacefully in the Serenity Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, Massachusetts on Monday, December 2, 2019. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Geraghty) Lynch. She was raised in Norwood, graduating from Norwood High School with the Class of 1945.
Emily initially made her home in Norfolk, where she welcomed her two sons, Edwin, Jr. and Ronald. She settled in Walpole, Massachusetts in 1960, where she owned and operated Fords 5 and 10 in Walpole Center for several years, before taking a secretarial position with Fred C. Brown Ford on Route 1A. Emily went on to take a secretarial position with Factory Mutual in Norwood, working for more than 30 years before her retirement in 1992.
Throughout her life, Emily enjoyed bowling, participating in various leagues. She enjoyed quiet time as well, catching up on a good book or working on a jigsaw puzzle.
Loving mother of Edwin F. Bodge, Jr. and his wife, Helen, of Wrentham and Ronald W. Bodge of Norfolk.
Cherished grandmother of Benjamin Bodge and Brenda Baker.
Sister of Claire E. Lynch of Walpole, Robert Lynch of Stoughton, and the late William Lynch.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Emily’s visitation on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 10 to 11:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole, MA 02081.
