Elsie E. (Luiselli) Caliri, age 92, passed away in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham, Massachusetts in Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Born in North Adams, Massachusetts on September 9, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Bertha (Personeni) Luiselli. She was raised in Mattapan and graduated from Dorchester High School with the class of 1941 and after graduation; she took a position with RH White Furniture Store.
Elsie met her soon to be husband, Charles E. Caliri, through a mutual friend and they were married on July 22, 1944 in Saint Gregory's Church in Dorchester. They lived in South Boston and Hyde Park before settling in Stoneham, where Elsie raised her family. In 1976, she moved to Norwell to be closer to her husband's job.
In her spare time, Elsie enjoyed working with acrylic paints at the Norwell Senior Center, playing the mandolin, reading, and listening to Big Band style music.
Most important to Elsie was her family. She had a special connection with her husband as they loved dancing together as well as traveling. They looked forward to their annual trip to Florida as snowbirds; however some of her favorite memories came from spending time around her pool with her children and grandchildren. Finally in 1996, she moved to Walpole to be closer to her family.
