Elizabeth A. (Papasodero) Silvi age 82 years died in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Friday, July 10, 2009. Born in East Dedham, Massachusetts on December 27, 1926; she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Migliaccio) Papasodero. She graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1945. Mrs. Silvi has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for most of her life.
She worked most recently as the head administrator for the Norcap Clinic in Norwood, Massachusetts and later at Southwood Hospital in Walpole, Massachusetts. Previously she had worked at RCA in Waltham, in the cafeteria of the Walpole Public Schools, at BayBank, and at her husband's store Mimi's Variety in downtown Walpole.
Mrs. Silvi was an avid bocce player, whose team won championships many years for Italian American Club in Walpole. She enjoyed knitting with the Knitwits, her knitting group, crafting many blankets and afghans for family and charity groups. She also belonged to a card group that met weekly.
She was known for her apple pie crust and her many other delicious foods. She enjoyed square dancing and round dancing; as well as winter trips to Florida. In addition she enjoyed entertaining at her summer cottage in Chepachet, RI.
Most especially Mrs. Silvi enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Beloved wife of the late Emilio D. "Mimi" Silvi. Loving mother of Paula S. Kent of Hamilton and Susan E. Silvi of Walpole. Sister of Marie R. Muse of Walpole and Paul H. Papasodero of Milford. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10 AM. Visiting hours are Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole, Massachusetts. Memorial donations may be made to: Saint Jude's Childrens Research Hospital 501 Saint Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
