Elinor P. Erker

November 25, 1925 — September 5, 2013

Elinor P. "Ellie" Erker, age 87 years, died in the Charlwell House in Norwood, Massachusetts on Thursday, September 5, 2013. Born in Norwood on November 25, 1925, she was raised and educated in Walpole, graduating from Walpole High School with the class of 1943. She remained a life long resident of Walpole.

She spent her working career as an accountant, starting at the Kendall Company in Walpole, where she worked for 25 years. She later worked at the Walpole Woodworkers for 25 years, retiring in 1992.

Ellie enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and Canada as well as attending the theatre in both Boston and Connecticut.

She volunteered for 15 years at the clothing sales for the Friends of the Mentally Ill and the Medfield State Hospital. In addition, she served on the Board of the Auxiliary for the Mentally Ill.

More than anything, she loved spending time with her nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Josefa (Koellner) Erker. Loving sister of Frank Erker of Walpole, the late Joseph Erker, Jr., the late Mary Anderson, the late Emma Erker, the late Hedwig "Vicki" Erker, the late Sophia Coyne, the late Walter Erker, the late E. Philip Erker, and the late Edward Erker. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Ellie's Life Celebration on Monday, September 9, 2013 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Friends of the Mentally Ill, 50 Peter Kristoff Way, Medfield, MA 02052.
