Eleanor P. (Ahern) Long, age 73, passed away in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Timothy V. and May (Maloof) Ahern. She was raised in Roxbury before moving to Jamaica Plain as a teenager, attending Girls High School.
Eleanor spent her working career as the House Keeping Supervisor at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain.
Most important to Eleanor was her family, she loved the time she spent with them during their various gatherings. She moved from Jamaica Plain to Walpole, Massachusetts in 2007 to be closer to her children, grandchildren and extended family.
Loving mother of Kellie A. Needham and her husband James of Walpole and Michelle Ford of Canton.
Cherished grandmother of Timothy Needham, Ashley Needham, Matthew Ford, Ryan Ford, and Timothy Ford.
Sister of James Ahern of North Port, FL and the late Maureen Ahern.
Devoted aunt of Timothy Ahern, Colleen Roback, and Aaron Roback.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Eleanor's Life Celebration on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4-8 PM in the James H. Delaney& Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Funeral service and interment will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: VNA Care Network and Hospice, c/o Development Office, 199 Rosewood Drive, Suite 180, Danvers, MA 01923-1388.
