Edward F. Sweeney

Mr. Edward F. Sweeney age 85 years died in the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts on Monday, December 17th, 2007. Born on April 12, 1922, in Mineola, LI, New York. The son of the late Edward F. & Rose (Muldowney) Sweeney.

Mr. Sweeney served his country during World War II as a 1srLT in the United States Army.

Resident of East Walpole since 1964. He was a History Teacher at Norwood High School for over 30 years and he retired in 1980.

A retired member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association Mr. Sweeney was an avid reader, he loved to travel the United States and seek out historical sites. This love of history led to him spending time on his family genology, and his hobby of photography.

Beloved husband of the late Clara C. (Candela) Sweeney Loving father of , Edward F. Sweeney of East Walpole, Robert A. Sweeney of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and Margaret C. Sweeney of Manhattan, New York City, New York.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Saint Mary's Church 176 Washington Street East Walpole on Friday, December 21, 2007 @ 9AM. Visiting hours are omitted at the request of the family. Interment Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
