Edward J. Jones

Edward J. "Ted" Jones age 79 years died in the Golden Living Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Monday, March 17, 2008. Born on June 24 1928 in Foxborough, Massachusetts to his parents Edward F. and Celia E. (Peterson) Jones, he graduated from the Norfolk Agricultural High School with the class of 1946. He was a lifelong resident of Walpole.

He married Lois, his High School Sweetheart, and was married for 48 years.

Mr. Jones owned and operated Walpole Leasing Inc and hauled for Howe and French Chemicals as well as the Walpole Woodworkers for 38 years, retiring in 1996. He was quoted as saying in 1987 "I love to drive, I'm doing what I always wanted to do."

He enjoyed boating on his boat "The Jones Boy", and spending time at Lois and his home in Harwichport, Massachusetts.

Beloved husband of Lois A. (Hertel) Jones. Loving father of Julie J. Hutcheson of Middleboro and Jeffrey E. Jones of Walpole, step father of David C. Allen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the late Debbi L. Allen. Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth, Ariel, Paul, and Matt. Brother of Russell J. Jones of Walpole, the late Leroy Jones, and the late Arlene Lyford. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service that will be held in the Union Congregational Church on Saturday, March 22, 2008. Visiting hours are Friday, March 21, 2008 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery Walpole.
